SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — The Springdale Fire Department announced on Wednesday (Dec. 14) that its firefighters will be getting a new training facility.

The Springdale City Council approved a vote to purchase the facility on Tuesday night (Dec. 13).

This training center will help firefighters train in different live fire situations. With the facility, firefighters will be able to practice flashovers, ventilation, search and rescue, ladder placement, hose advancement and rappelling, as well as other maneuvers.

Training ahead of time in the facility will help the teams be better prepared for hazards on the job, which will help save lives and property.
