FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The Fort Smith Director of Sanitation has been fired from his job, according to Fort Smith City Administrator Carl Geffken.
Mark Schlievert has served as the director since April of 2016.
The termination comes after news that the department spent tens of thousands of dollars sending recyclables to the landfill during the majority of 2016.
