VAN BUREN (KFSM) — A 14-year-old boy is dead following a motorcycle collision in Van Buren Sunday (June 11), said Detective Jonathan Wear with Van Buren Police Department.
The collision happened in the parking lot of El Lorito near Fifth and Broadway Streets, Wear stated in a news release. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.
The boy, who’s name wasn’t released as of the following afternoon, was ejected from the motorcycle due to the impact when striking the side of the restaurant. He was wearing a helmet at the time, Wear stated.
Wear also stated the boy died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital.
“Our sympathies go out to this young man’s family,” Wear said.
