LOWELL (KFSM) — Traffic was at a standstill Friday night (Aug. 4) on Northbound I-49 approaching Exit 78, Highway 264/Monroe Avenue, due to some type of accident, according to a 5NEWS photojournalist who was near the scene.
As of 10:30 p.m., traffic was backed up from before Exit 76/Wagon Wheel Road to before Exit 78, Highway 264/Monroe Avenue.
“It happened just before 10 p.m. at the I-49 Northbound lanes near Exit 78 and was cleared by 11:15 p.m.” said photojournalist Dave Walker. “Both lanes were closed and they [law enforcement] had to open up the interior lane to get traffic through.”
