BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — A Bentonville man accused of molesting a child turned himself in to police Monday (Aug. 21), according to a news release.

Brandon G. Guillen, 21, was wanted by police after a 7-year-old boy told investigators Guillen exposed himself and touched the boy’s privates, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The boy was with his family at the Buttered Biscuit in Bentonville on Aug. 11 when he left the table to go to the bathroom. Guillen, who worked at the restaurant, followed the boy inside, blocked the exit, and exposed himself before touching him, according to the affidavit.

Guillen denied any inappropriate contact with the child, but told police his hand could’ve grazed the child as Guillen left the bathroom.

Guillen described the alleged incident as an awkward situation, but said he thought he was good with kids because he coaches youth soccer. Another employee said Guillen often babysits for her, according to the affidavit.

Guillen was free Tuesday (Aug. 22) after posting a $35,000 bond. He has a hearing set for Oct. 2 in Benton County Circuit Court.

Second-degree sexual assault is a Class B felony in Arkansas. The offense carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000, according to Arkansas Code Annotated 5-4-401.
