President Trump Pardons Former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio

WASHINGTON (CNN) —  President Donald Trump has pardoned former Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio of his conviction for criminal contempt, the White House said.

Last month, Arpaio was found guilty of criminal contempt for disregarding a court order in a racial profiling case.  He was scheduled to be sentenced October 5.
