Rogers Police Respond To Reports Of Shots Fired

ROGERS (KFSM) — Police are responding to reports of shots fired Tuesday (Aug. 29) on East Kara Lane, according to officer Keith Foster.

Richard Garcia, 38, is facing charges of aggravated assault, terroristic act, possession of a firearm by certain persons, and possession of a controlled substance, according to an incident report.

Around 2:30 p.m. Rogers Police responded to a home after a report that a man matching Garcia’s description came out of a duplex shooting at a car near the intersection of Kara Lane and Old Wire Road, the report states. When officers arrived, they spoke to a man who said he was Jose Garcia, but was later identified as Daniel Garcia. He said his brother, Richard Garcia, was inside the home.

Richard Garcia refused to come out of the home for a while, but he eventually came out peacefully around 3:30 p.m. and was taken into custody, the report states.

Garcia said he fired a single round at the ground after getting into an argument with a woman, who drove away in an SUV. He said the woman hit his vehicle with her car.

A person driving by said that after the SUV drove away, Garcia pointed the gun at him.

 

During a search of the residence, officers found a 9 mm handgun and a .22 revolver, along with a glass tube and plastic baggies of meth, according to the report.

Richard Garcia, who has a extensive arrest history, was booked into the Benton County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.

Daniel Garcia was also booked into the Benton County Detention Center on a $1,000 bond. He is facing charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of government operations, and there was a warrant out for his arrest.
