SALLISAW (KFSM) — Two people have been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run in Sallisaw, Cpt. Jeff Murray said.
Kelton Chandler, 24, and Precious Suttion, 22, were arrested on Wednesday (Aug. 30).
Police recovered the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run early Wednesday morning. Murray said the vehicle was located near Lake Tenkiller around 1 a.m.
Murray said the accident happened near the intersection of Highway 64 and Hickory Street around 5:30 p.m.
According to investigators, three witnesses saw a gold Buick LeSabre back into the victim who was walking on the sidewalk at a high rate of speed.
Those witnesses said the incident began when the victim yelled at the driver of the Buick to slow down.
The victim was life-flighted to a hospital in Fayetteville, and is in critical condition.
