FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- The suspect involved in a standoff with police was taken into custody near M.L.K. at about 9:30 p.m. without incident, Cpl. Tiffney Lindley said.
Fayetteville police were assisting the Washington County Sheriff's Office after a call of an armed person in the area, Lindley said.
According to a neighbor, the suspect got into an argument with another neighbor and pulled out a gun. The suspect then barricaded himself inside a duplex.
Emergency Response Team entered the duplex, but the suspect was not found. Police then began searching the area for the suspect, and took him into custody at about 9:30 p.m. without incident near Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Another neighbor told 5NEWS that the suspect was in his yard listening to loud music and yelling. When confronted to stop, he went inside and came back outside with a gun. The neighbor called the cops, and the man barricaded himself inside the home. When the cops went inside the home, the man had escaped out the back. The neighbor said he is a 6'2 male with a shaved head and several tattoos.
