LITTLE ROCK (KTHV) — Two Little Rock police officers are on administrative leave after shooting a man who may have been involved in a rape and possible stabbing.

According to our Little Rock sister station THV 11, police were called around 12:15 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 21) to the at the Stone Ridge Apartments on  Geyer Springs Road. After talking to witnesses, they developed two suspects.

One of the suspects was immediately taken into custody and the other suspect was found by police hiding behind a nearby church.

Reports state that police told him to come out with his hands up.

According to Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner, the man came out in a “shooting stance” and two officers shot him multiple times. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he is expected to survive. The victim of the initial assault was also taken to the hospital.

No names have been released at this time.
