FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Fort Smith Police are searching for a man they consider to be armed and dangerous after a woman showed up at Sparks Hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to Lt. Daniel Grubbs, the shooting reportedly happened at 10 p.m. Monday (Oct. 30) in the 3800 block of Towson Avenue. Lt. Grubbs said Amy Longo, 27, was shot once and has been transferred to a hospital out of the area with non-life threatening injuries.

Grubbs said Longo went to the Knights Inn with Peter Boutin, 30. Longo remained outside in a car while Boutin entered a hotel room with three men and a woman, according to Grubbs. Boutin returned to the car followed by a man police said they believe to be Daven Jared, 39. Once Boutin was in the driver's seat, one round was fired through the driver's side window striking Longo on the right cheek.

Boutin left the parking lot and dropped Longo off at a residence on the 1700 block of South T Street, and she was then taken to the hospital by a neighbor. Police said they located Boutin in the 5000 block of South 28th Street. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor cuts and later arrested on a parole violation, according to police.

After investigating, police said they believed the chain of events evolved from the room at the Knights Inn. The listed occupant of the room, Megan Hovater, 26, was later placed under arrest for obstructing governmental operations, according to police.

After interviews, police obtained an arrest warrant for Daven Jared on the charge of first-degree battery.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jared is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 78-CRIME (782-7463), or the Fort Smith Police Department at (479) 709-5100.
