FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A 54-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the street Sunday night (Nov. 12) in Fort Smith.
It happened at the intersection of Fresno Street and Towson Avenue, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
Officer Michael McCoy explained how the incident happened, “[the driver] tried to change lanes to dodge the person, and struck him anyway.”
According to McCoy, the driver will not be cited.
EMS was on scene and the victim was taken to Mercy Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver and the victim’s identities have not been released.
