BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — The Benton County Jail has lifted a lockdown after several sick inmates appeared to be feeling better, according Sgt. Shannon Jenkins, spokeswoman for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Jenkins said Friday (Jan. 12) that the jail had resumed normal operations and staff was working with the Arkansas Department of Health to determine what caused the outbreak.
Meg Mirivel, health department spokeswoman, said the illness appeared to be food-borne following a preliminary investigation. She said staff will continue testing in order to pinpoint the exact cause of the illness.
