ROGERS (KFSM) — A pep rally has been canceled at Rogers Heritage High School due to a rumor of a threat, according to school officials.

Police will have an increased presence at the school, but there has been no concrete threat. The school resource officer is investigating.

Police have not found the source of the rumor. The school released this statement to parents:

Parents,
We wanted to let you know that we have not received any threat but because of the current climate and unsubstantiated rumors, we canceled a pep rally today as a precaution. We always take safety very seriously, and we appreciate that the Rogers Police Department will have an extra presence on campus today. Thank you
