SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — UPDATE: The power was restored at about 2 p.m.


A power outage has been reported in Springdale, according to SWEPCO.

The outage map shows that the power outage is impacting more than 6,500 customers Tuesday (April 10).

Power Restored To 6,500 People In Springdale

The outage is affecting customers near the Springdale Airport.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time. SWEPCO says that crews are working at a substation to figure out the cause.

Springdale police say six traffic lights are affected and they are directing traffic in the area. Sunset Avenue, Old Missouri and S. Thompson are all affected. Two accidents could be related to the power outage, but no one has been reported injured.

Northwest Medical in Springdale is operating on back-up generators, but patient care hasn’t been interrupted, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

City Hall isn’t affected, but some businesses downtown have lost power, according to Melissa Reeves, city spokeswoman.
