TALIHINA, Okla. (KFSM) -- A suspect was killed and four Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were injured Friday morning (May 11) during what investigators describe as a "high-risk" search warrant operation in Talihina that ended in gunfire and an explosion inside a downtown building.

According to OHP, the suspect was identified Monday (May 21) as Bradley D. Webster, 52.

The injured troopers were identified as troopers Brett Stephens, Brandon Seward, Sammy Lee, Chris Bunch and Chance Tuttle.

About 6 a.m. Friday morning, officers were met with gunfire at the door of a downtown building as they tried to serve the warrant at a man's home, according to Capt. Paul Timmons with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Sometime during the gunfight, there was an explosion inside the business according to Timmons.  Eyewitnesses describe hearing loud booms before the flames quickly spread throughout the building.

The troopers were injured either by gunshots or by shrapnel. They did return gunfire and the suspect was shot and killed at the scene, Timmons said.

Investigators say the building could have been "booby trapped" and the fire started as soon as they tried to enter the building.  Vehicles near the scene were riddled with bullet holes.

According to the Talihina police chief, two historic buildings were destroyed.  Downtown roads around the fire are shut down as fire crews work the scene.

Webster had a violent criminal history and has made threats to law enforcement in the past, Timmons said.
