BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) -- State Highway 264 West of Cave Springs is now open, it was closed earlier due to an accident, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT).
An Arkansas State Police Preliminary Fatal Crash Summary reports that a 15-year-old female was killed and Carolyn Willhite, 62, was also injured in the accident. Both are from West Fork.
The report states that the 2015 GMC was headed east on SH 264, left the road on the right shoulder and sideswiped a large tree, according to the report.
Police asked drivers to avoid to the area until the road reopened -- in all it took a bit more than an hour to clear, according to ARDOT.
