GRAVETTE (KFSM) -- The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 7-year-old boy was found dead Friday (July 27) in a pond.
Sgt. Shannon Jenkins said the call came in this morning about a boy who went missing and was found about 10:16 a.m. in a pond off Dow Road, near Gravette.
The child was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His name is Jason Thomas Heath, according to the boy's uncle, who was at the scene.
The pond is about a half-mile from the boy's home, the uncle told 5NEWS, and said the child was able to get into the area because of a broken fence.
Jason has a twin sister and an older brother.
The sheriff's office is investigating the boy's death to rule out foul play, Jenkins said.
