BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- A Bank of the Ozarks in Bentonville was robbed Friday (Aug. 10) at 4:33 p.m., Bentonville police say.

Bentonville Police Department Sgt. Gene Page, told 5NEWS Damon Vargas, 21, of Benton County has been arrested in connection with the robbery.

Vargas will be held the Benton County Jail.

The Bank of the Ozarks in Bentonville where the robbery took place is located at 405 SW 14th Street.

Bentonville investigators say Vargas wearing a red cap, grey shirt, and dark sneakers approached a bank teller with a note demanding money and that he had a weapon.

Vargas then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

"He never showed the weapon and we don't have any injures," Sgt. Page told 5NEWS.

The Benton County Sheriffs Office and the Bella Vista Police Department assisted with the search and arrest of Vargas.

No weapon was recovered during his arrest.

Vargas has four felony charges:  aggravated robbery, contempt of court, theft of property and possession of firearm. He's being held on $250,000 bond.  He has two court dates, August 17th and September 17th.
