ROGERS (KFSM) — A 16-year-old has been charged as an adult in connection with Saturday's (Aug. 18) shooting at the Rogers Public Library.

Chandler Joseph Castoe is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and minor in possession of a handgun -- all felonies.

Rogers police say Castoe and a 16-year-old met with a 17-year-old at the library around 3 p.m. for a prearranged marijuana deal.

Castoe, who was in the 16-year-old's car, demanded money from the 17-year-old by pointing a loaded handgun at their head and hitting them with the gun.

Police said Castole also fired the gun, shattering the car's sunroof.

The 17-year-old was treated at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. An update on their condition wasn't immediately available Tuesday (Aug. 21).

Police are searching for a second suspect linked to the shooting. Anyone with information is urged to call Rogers Police at (479) 636-4141.

Castoe was being held Tuesday at the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center.

The library remained open Saturday while officers worked on the investigation. Police said no one inside was harmed during the incident.
