FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Bobby Shaw, who was reported missing by his family last week, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday (Sept. 15).

Police found the body of Bobby Dale Shaw near the Highway 612 I-49 off-ramp on Tuesday (Sep. 18), according to his daughter.

Arkansas State Police said the crash occurred sometime Saturday when Shaw, 68, was driving his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on U.S. 612, also known as the U.S. 412 Bypass.

Shaw was traveling eastbound on the 612 off ramp to northbound Interstate 49 when he lost control while negotiating a curve. Shaw drove off the right side of the roadway and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was fatally injured, state police said.

Shaw's daughter says she found out that her dad was missing on Monday (Sep. 17) morning.

"He had been missing since last Saturday morning. That's the last anyone spoke with him, and nobody has seen or heard from him, we can't get hold of him on his phone," Eva Rackleff told 5NEWS.

She says she last spoke with her father on Thursday (Sep 13.).

Other than discussing a new medication he was prescribed from a VA hospital, Rackleff says nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"It knocks him out and makes him drowsy. Then we finished up here and packed his cake up and went home, and that's the last time I spoke to him," she said.

Friends say Shaw was halfway through a motorcycle ride on Friday, only to turn around and go back home after not feeling well. They say he canceled plans on Saturday as well because he wasn't feeling well.
