FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A water main break slowed traffic on Township Street in Fayetteville early Monday morning (Oct. 8).
According to Tim Nyander, utilities director for Fayetteville Water & Sewer Services, a 6-inch water line broke about 11 p.m. Sunday night at Township Street and Juneway Terrace.
Nyander said they had trouble getting the water shut off completely, so they had to expand the number of customers who had their water shut off for the repair. He said they work was nearly done as of 8:25 a.m.
“We should have that wrapped up soon,” he said.
Nyander said the city would flush the line, so residents would not need to worry about flushing their lines or boiling water once service was restored.
He said he didn’t know exactly how many customers were without water, but they should expect to see their service returned Monday.
