FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- A woman who was hit by a vehicle after leaving the Fort Smith Dollar Tree store at 16th Street and Grand Avenue shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 20) died Sunday (Oct. 21), according to Fort Smith Police.
Arkansas State Police have identified the woman as Esperanza Ramirez Martinez.
Emergency crews were on scene, and officials told 5NEWS she was outside of the crosswalk area.
On Sunday, police said she passed away from her injuries, but they believe it to be an accident. At this time, police do not think the driver who hit Martinez will be at fault.
