Fayetteville Car Theft Suspects

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — One person has been arrested in connection with a vehicle theft that happened Saturday (Nov. 3) afternoon.

At approximately 12:53 p.m. on Saturday Fayetteville police responded to the EZ Mart on 1950 N. Leverett about a stolen vehicle. Police then began searching for two suspects wanted for questioning in regards to the case caught on surveillance video stealing a 2006 Pontiac G6 from the convience store parking lot. The owner of the Pontiac left the vehicle running while in the store. The female suspect, caught on camera, then drove away with the vehicle after exiting the store, while the male suspect fled the scene driving a silver VW Jetta.

On Wednesday (Nov. 7) the male suspect, Erik Hutcheson, was brought to the Fayetteville Police Department after being arrested in the stolen Jetta. Hutcheson told police he did not know who the female suspect was.  Following the interview with investigators Erik was charged with accomplice to vehicle theft.
