NOEL, Mo. (KFSM) -- A man considered "armed and dangerous" was captured Thursday (Nov. 15) afternoon after a day-long manhunt by the McDonald County Sheriff's Office.
Jeremy Treat was arrested at about 3 p.m. near North Kings Road in Noel, Missouri, not far from where he crashed a stolen vehicle from Bella Vista earlier this Thursday morning.
Authorities said Treat lead Bella Vista police and the sheriff's office on a pursuit before crashing in a neighborhood. He ran off on foot after that. Treat was tased and arrested on train tracks in Noel.
A longtime resident in the area told 5NEWS he spotted Noel at the back of his house getting ready to break in after noticing a heavy police presence on his property.
"I pulled my pistol on him and fired a warning shot because he came toward me, and then he said 'Sorry, I'm lost. What's wrong?' He was sweating and then he kind of sidestepped and took off around the house," Roddy Lett told 5NEWS.
Lett says Treat then disappeared for a minute and then ran into an abandoned house in front of his, and that's when the sheriff's office and police stepped into action.
"We started to surround it as I pulled up front. He actually came out of the old house, there are no doors on it. He came out of the house and started a foot along with one of my SRT Pineville guys, and we ended up running him through a field into some railroad tracks where he failed to comply with commands and ended up getting tasered," McDonald County Sheriff Michael Hall said.
Hall says they then arrested Treat and took him to the McDonald County Jail.
Treat was being held Tuesday (Nov. 27) at the Benton County Jail on a $35,000 bond. He has a hearing set for Jan. 7, 2019, in Benton County Circuit Court.
