FORT SMITH, Ark. (KFSM) — Fort Smith police have finished their investigation of Sunday’s (Dec. 9) accidental shooting.
Police said they believe a few people were at a home at the 4400 block of Clarendon Street when a person called 911 telling dispatchers that someone had been shot.
During the investigation police said that people were in the back yard of the home firing weapons and that one man may have accidentally shot another man. Police also believe that alcohol was involved.
The person, who police believe accidentally shot his friend, has been arrested for Battery 2nd Degree.
The man who was shot was hit in the abdominal area. He is in surgery and his condition is considered serious, according to police.
