CRAWFORD COUNTY (KFSM) — Police and K9 officers are on the hunt for two suspects they say led them on a chase.

Larry Weaver Jr.

According to Jonathan Wear with the Van Buren Police Department, detectives were working on an unrelated case when they saw what looked like a drug deal happening at the Vista Hills Apartments in Van Buren.

Two people fled on foot and were captured while two others fled the scene in a gold Toyota Camry.

Police say they are looking for the driver of the Camry, Larry Weaver Jr. of Kibler, who reached speeds up to 100 mph in downtown Van Buren.

One detective told 5NEWS that Weaver narrowly missed a storefront as he navigated a corner during the chase. As the pursuit hit the main highway running through Van Buren, police called off the pursuit due to the danger to the community and other drivers on the road.

Kibler Police Chief Roger Green heard about the pursuit and recognized Weaver's name. Green said that Weaver was accused of theft from a residence off of Austin Drive in Kibler earlier this month.

Police found the Camry on a dirt road and were able to arrest the passenger, Michael Gongola. They said Weaver fled on foot into a wooded area.
