FORT SMITH, Ark. (KFSM) — Two kids have been arrested in connection with a shooting near Central Mall in Fort Smith Tuesday (April 9) night.

According to police, around 9:30 p.m., the shooting happened at Hendricks and South T Street.

Officers were then dispatched to Braum's near Central Mall where Kennedy Perry reported the shooting.

She told officers she was driving southbound on S. Albert Pike near Rogers Ave when a gold Pontiac G6 pulled up behind her vehicle, according to an incident report. She says the vehicle continued to drive very close to her car and began throwing things at their car. She then stated the Pontiac pulled up next to her and pointed a handgun out the passenger side window. She says they fired one shot and fled the scene. She told officers the gunshot was loud, and she heard something hit the vehicle.

Juveniles were in the car with Perry during the time of the shooting, alongside another female named Keili Moreland, the incident report states.

The two suspects, both under the age of 18, were later located near the scene.  Detectives took them into custody without further incident.

The pair have been arrested for aggravated assault with a vehicle, aggravated assault with a firearm, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

There were no injuries reported from the shots fired.
