Officers Find Body In Car After Driver Flees Traffic Stop

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after police found the body of a man inside a car whose driver fled from a traffic stop.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on an unlicensed car early Tuesday, but the driver fled and crashed the vehicle through the gate of a condominium complex. Authorities say the driver was eventually found “on top of one of the buildings” and taken into custody.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found the body of a man in the back. Authorities have not said how the man died but say foul play is suspected.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and fleeing and authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
