BOT 9 – Arkansas couldn’t mount a last inning rally as they fall to Florida State 1-0.

TOP 9 – A sacrifice fly has broken the scoreless tie and Florida State takes a 1-0 lead. The Seminoles still have a runner on third with two outs.

Florida State hasn’t had a serious scoring threat since the early innings but have one in the ninth. A lead off hit batter and then an odd play at second base has two on and no outs for the Seminoles. Casey Martin went to field a grounder on the first base side of second base but the Florida State runner slide into the glove of Martin, causing the ball and the glove to go flying. Arkansas is now going Matt Cronin.

BOT 8 – The Hogs let a golden opportunity slip, stranding Franklin at 3rd base. Arkansas is now 0-7 with runners in scoring position tonight. Still a 0-0 ballgame headed to the 9th.

Trevor Ezell sacrificed Franklin over to third for the first out of the inning, before Casey Martin struck out for the second time in the game. Now two outs with Franklin on third.

Christian Franklin leads off the 8th with an opposite field double. Suddenly the Hogs are threatening and Drew Parrish is over 100 pitches.

TOP 8 – Scroggins works a 1-2-3 inning as he gets a fly out to each of his three outfielders. Still 0-0 as Arkansas is coming up in the bottom of the inning.

Impressive day by Isaiah Campbell is done as Arkansas is going to Cody Scroggins for the 8th. Campbell goes 7 IP, 10 K, 5 H, 2 BB, 0 R

BOT 7 – As good as Campbell has been for Arkansas, Parrish has been equally as impressive for Florida State the left hander recorded two more strikeouts in the seven to push his total to seven for the game. Both teams have registered 21 outs and neither has scored a run.

TOP 7 – With a rising pitch count, Campbell needed a quick inning and he got just that. He needed only six pitches to get through the seventh. Arkansas bats need to reward their ace.

BOT 6 – The Razorbacks let a scoring chance slip away as Kjerstad grounds out to the pitcher to end the threat and the inning. Still 0-0

With two outs, Arkansas has put together it’s biggest threat since the third inning. A Goodheart walk and a Fletcher single has runners at the corners for Heston Kjerstad. Mike Martin out to the mound to talk with his starting pitcher.

TOP 6 – The innings keep rolling over but they are all starting to look the same. Florida State gets a base runner but Isaiah Campbell keeps them at first base. His strikeout counter is up to an Arkansas CWS record of nine as he’s through the sixth. Arkansas bats need to start warming as Campbell’s pitch count is at 95.

BOT 5 – It hasn’t been a good day on the base paths for Christian Franklin. He was doubled off of third base on a line drive back in the third that ended a scoring threat and now in the fifth, Franklin was picked off trying to steal second base. Arkansas with three hits through five innings. Hogs and Seminoles still scoreless.

TOP 5 – Another inning, another Florida State base runner but another scoreless frame from Isaiah Campbell. The Seminoles have left six on base through their first five innings at the plate. Campbell not has eight strikeouts while giving up four hits and issued two walks. Still scoreless.

BOT 4 – Nothing doing for the Razorbacks in the fourth as they are set down in order. Arkansas and Florida State are tied 0-0 as they head to the 5th.

TOP 4 – Campbell avoids damage as he paints the outside corner for a called third strike that ends the inning. The Arkansas right-hander has seven strikeouts through four innings of work.

Florida State was able to get base runners in each of the first three innings and that trend continued in the fourth as a would be inning ending grounder was booted by Jack Kenley at second base. The Seminoles immediately added a single to left and now have a scoring chance.

BOT 3 – Arkansas had two men in scoring position after back-to-back singles by Christina Franklin and Trevor Ezell. But Florida State got out of it with an inning ending 4-5 double play.

TOP 3 – Isaiah Campbell upped his K total to five and induced a routine 4-6-3 double play to keep Florida State at bay in the third inning. Franklin, Ezell & Martin are due up for Arkansas.
BOT 2 – Nesbit struck out swinging to end the Arkansas threat. Hogs 0, Seminoles 0 after two frames.
Heston Kjerstad produces the fourth hard-hit ball of the night, flying out to the left center field warning track on a leaping catch by J.C. Flowers. Jack Kenley then reached on a catchers interference call and Casey Opitz walked. Two men on with two outs for Jacob Nesbit.

TOP 2 – Campbell ends up striking out the side to strand his 2nd & 3rd runners of the evening. That’s four K’s through two innings of scoreless baseball. Fletcher, Kjerstad & Kenley due up for the Hogs.
Campbell surrenders a leadoff single, strikes out the next man and then allows another hit. Right now the Seminoles have runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.
BOT 1 – Trevor Ezell & Casey Martin each lined out to short stop and Matt Goodheart lined out to second base. Three hard hit balls with nothing to show for. Arkansas 0, FSU 0 after one inning.
TOP 1 – Campbell walked one Seminole batter but stranded him on first after getting a ground out, fly out and strikeout. Florida State 0, Arkansas coming to bat for the first time.

Isaiah Campbell is on the mound for his third College World Series start over the past two seasons. The Arkansas ace went 1-1 last June, besting Florida before taking the loss in game three of the CWS Finals to Oregon State.

It’s been less than a week since Arkansas wrapped up the super regional win over Ole Miss but it feels like a month. That wait is almost over as game day has arrived for the Razorbacks and they’ll be here inside TD Ameritrade Park.

Isaiah Campbell will get the start on the mound for the Hogs while Florida State is countering with Drew Parrish. Take a look at their season numbers here:
