FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Fayetteville Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex early Thursday in which a juvenile was injured.
The shooting happened around midnight on Thursday at the Chestnut Meadow Apartments, 2071 Chestnut Ave. in Fayetteville. That's when dispatch said a call came in regarding shots fired at the apartment complex.
Shortly afterward, police received a call from Washington Regional Medical Center that a gunshot victim had arrived in their ER, according to Sgt. Anthony Murphy with the Fayetteville Police.
Murphy said police were able to connect the two events.
He said the victim was shot in the hand. The injury was the result of a fight that broke out between two people in an apartment at the complex and was an isolated incident. The public was not in danger, Murphy said.
Police said they don't have a suspect description at the moment, but they are still following leads.
