SPRINGDALE, Ark (KFSM) — A communication team from Walmart visited Springdale High School teachers on Thursday (Aug. 1) to teach them a highly distinguished concept.

Walmart will be training the SHS Business and IT academies' staff on Agile.

"I feel like it’s really important for our students to know what’s going on in the world around them. Some of our kids do go on to intern at Walmart and Tyson. We’re hoping to expand those programs so I feel like it’s important that our students know these terms before they go into those different positions," said SHS business teacher Shannon Green who pushed for this to be taught in her school.

Agile is a problem-solving technique used by many Fortune 500 technology companies.

“What agile is about is short feedback loops. We do a little bit, a thin vertical slice, in a short period of time and this is the really neat thing: the person doing the work gets to tell the person receiving the value this is what it will take and this is what I can do as opposed to you must do this by this date," said Walmart program manager Jon Pesnell.

Springdale students will be able to learn how to use it in their assignments and day-to-day lives once it is implemented.

In the training, staff learned Agile methods which will be taught in Springdale High School's Business and IT Academy.
