Firefighters Respond To Fire At Funeral Chapel In Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Fayetteville firefighters responded to a fire at a funeral chapel and crematory Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to Beard's Funeral Chapel at 855 South Happy Hollow Road about 9:17 a.m. Wednesday.

Capt. Tom Good with the Fayetteville Fire Department said the incinerator itself caught fire during a cremation.

The fire was contained to that incinerator, Good said. Though there was smoke showing when firefighters arrived, there was no major damage to the building.

No injuries were reported, Good said.

The fire was contained in about 10 minutes.
