FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KFSM) — Several shots were fired inside a home on Dean St. In Fayetteville while police were serving a search warrant Friday (Sept.13) morning.

At approximately 8:30 am police served the search warrant at the home of 21-year-old Terry Kennedy and 21-year-old Lionel Thomas.

Over the past three months, detectives purchased ecstasy from Kennedy during a controlled buy. During the transaction, Kennedy told the undercover detective that he had a gun on him.

Throughout the investigation, detectives confirmed that Kennedy and his roommate Thomas had guns and large amounts of narcotics at their home.

During the execution of the "high risk" search warrant, Thomas fired shots at members of the tactical team from inside the residence. No injuries have been reported.

Fayetteville Police, Emergency Response Team and the Drug Task Force served the search warrant.

During the search, detectives found a 9mm gun, 52.4 grams of marijuana, 10 ecstasy pills, .29 grams of cocaine, two bottles of Promethazine liquid (requires a prescription), pound sized vacuum-sealed bags, a digital scale and $541 in cash.

Thomas was arrested and transported to the Fayetteville Police Department for questioning about the shooting, then was taken to the Washington County Detention Center. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

Kennedy was charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is an ongoing investigation.
