FORT SMITH, Ark. (KFSM) — The Fort Smith Police Department has arrested three people in connection to a shooting in the area of S 66th Street and Phoenix Avenue Tuesday night (Sept. 24).

3 Arrested, 1 Injured After Shooting Near Fort Smith Regional Airport

Police arrived to find a vehicle abandoned and some shell casings. They also found a gun in the vehicle.

There were no victims or suspects in the area when officers arrived.

During the investigation, detectives learned that there were at least three vehicles involved and possibly one person injured. A hole in the side of the Pic-N-Tote #6 that appears to be from a gunshot was spotted.

On Wednesday (Sept. 25) detectives found that the abandoned vehicle was occupied by Maliq Perry, 22, and Marlin Vann Rogers, 20.

Van Rogers was shot three times and is currently in the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Both Perry and Vann Rogers were arrested for parole violation and felon in possession of a firearm.

The second vehicle involved was occupied by Kadin Hester, 21, and a second person. The second person, who fled the scene, was interviewed and released by detectives. Hester was located outside of Fort Smith and arrested.

All three suspects are Fort Smith residents.

Marlin Vann Rogers has been charged with terroristic act with firearm enhancement, possession of firearms by certain persons, and habitual offender.

Maliq Jeron Perry has been charged with possession of firearms by certain persons, and habitual offender.

Kadin B. Hester has been charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm.
