Game Day Blog: Boyd’s 2nd Long TD Doesn’t Make Things Any Better
12:21, 4th Quarter – Rakeem Boyd’s second long touchdown run of the game, this one 86 yards, puts Arkansas back in the end zone. He has 177 yards rushing on seven carries, an average of 25.3 yards per carry, and two scores. WKU 38, ARK 13

0:18, 2nd Quarter – Things have been bad over the past 22 games but this could very well be the worst. Storey led a fifth scoring drive in the first half, capped by a 1-yard TD run by Walker. The rout is on. WKU 35, ARK 7
3:55, 2nd Quarter – Arkansas made the switch to KJ Jefferson on the drive and that led to a rushing first down by the QB but that’s it. WKU takes over on their own 32 with another chance to score.
6:02, 2nd Quarter – Ty Storey is having a day. Second play of the drive resulted in a 69-yard touchdown pass to a wide open receiver and Arkansas is down three touchdowns. WKU 28, ARK 7
6:52, 2nd Quarter – Outside of the long Boyd run in the first quarter, the Arkansas offense has done nothing. Another three-and-out gives the ball back to Western Kentucky. The Hogs have 113 yards of offense with 76 coming on the Boyd run.
7:42, 2nd Quarter – This WKU drive ended the same way the last one did, with Ty Storey in the end zone. The Hilltoppers put together a 16-play drive, converting two more fourth down conversions. WKU 21, ARK 7.
0:00, 1st Quarter – The Arkansas offense can’t respond as they go three-and-out and will put it back to WKU on the first play of the second quarter.
1:59, 1st Quarter – Storey is picking apart the Arkansas defense, especially on third down, as he just led a 12-play, 75-yard drive that was capped by Storey’s nine yard run for a score. Two drives and two TDs for the Hilltoppers offense. WKU 14, ARK 7
8:02, 1st Quarter – Arkansas had to get something to go right and Rakeem Boyd took care of that. The running back broke free for a 76-yard touchdown run right up the middle of the Hilltoppers defense. ARK 7, WKU 7
9:30, 1st Quarter – Ty Storey was able to convert a pair of fourth down conversions, one with his arm and one with his legs, then the Hilltoppers used a reverse to take the first lead of the game. The pitch went for 19 yards and grumblings are already being hear. WKU 7, ARK 0
13:15, 1st Quarter – Another brutal start for Arkansas as John Stephen Jones throws an interception on third down. WKU takes over at the Hogs 37.
15:00, 1st Quarter – Western Kentucky won the toss and deferred to the second half so we’ll get a look John Stephen Jones to start.
If Arkansas wants to snap a six game losing streak, they’ll have to do it against one of their former quarterbacks later this morning.
Ty Storey, a Charleston native and former Razorback starter, returns to the Hill lead Western Kentucky. Storey has thrown for just less than 1,500 yards and accounted for 11 touchdowns since taking over the starting job for the Hilltoppers.
