JOHNSON, Arkansas — Robyn Hearn joined the 5NEWS sports team in January 2024 as the weekend sports anchor and reporter.
Sports had been her passion for as long as she could remember. Growing up in a family that participated in anything from baseball to calf roping, Robyn was destined to end up in the sports world in some capacity.
Robyn grew up just 30 minutes outside of the DFW metroplex. She went to Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) where she graduated with a B.S. in Sports Media with a focus in production in May 2020.
During her time at OSU, she interned with the Frisco RoughRiders baseball team and at Fox Sports Southwest. Throughout the school year, she was involved in OState TV and interned in the OSU athletic communications department.
After graduating from college, Robyn became a news reporter at WBNG in Binghamton, NY and eventually made her way to the sports department in 2021. At the beginning of 2022, she came back to the Lone Star State to be the sports director at KAUZ in Wichita Falls, TX.
Being from Texas, football is Robyn's second language. However, her first language and favorite sport is baseball. When she's not reporting or watching sports, you can find Robyn shopping, playing tennis and hanging out with her family and friends.
If you really want to know the way to her heart, talk to her about her German Shepard, Rex (who lives back at home in Dallas). He's even the background on her phone!
