ARKANSAS, USA — Skot is a lifelong Arkansan who has had an eye on the sky since he was a young kid.
At an early age, Skot was terrified of severe thunderstorms, though with time that fear morphed into an interest and eventually a passion. Now Skot is self-admittedly obsessed with severe storms, including tornadoes and hurricanes.
Skot has covered a wide range of weather phenomena, from blizzards, tornado outbreaks, and historic hurricanes.
In 2019, Skot had the rare opportunity to fly directly into the eye of Hurricane Dorian, a category 5, with the world-renowned Hurricane Hunters.
Skot’s reporting on Arkansas climate, hunting, and conservation issues has won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, three Emmy Awards, and two Diamond Awards from the Arkansas Society of Professional Journalists.
Previously, Skot served as Governor Asa Hutchinson’s appointee to the Arkansas State Emergency Response Commission and the Arkansas 911 Board.
