CONWAY, Ark. — A thrilling new documentary showcasing adventure and perseverance will soon be available for people to enjoy.
"Passage" is a new film in which Arkansas PBS follows Arkansan Adam Riley of Fayetteville and Canadian Matty Clarke as they board their handmade rowboats and head on a 2,200-mile journey through the Northwest Passage for the trip of a lifetime.
The documentary premieres on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. on Arkansas PBS and can be streamed by clicking here.
Throughout their experience, both Riley and Clarke journey through uncharted waters, set out to conquer the final grail, and even row over the top of Canada while in their handmade rowboats. The pair attempted to be the first to have ever crossed the Northwest Passage, while self-propelled and in a single season.
"As Adam and Matty documented their journey, they captured the raw emotions and physical struggles that come with venturing into the unknown,” Arkansas PBS Executive Director and CEO Courtney Pledger said. “Our team had the privilege of collaborating with them to bring this epic adventure to broad audiences.
The journey that they embarked on is one that most people will never experience, and it shows off a part of the world that is rarely ever seen in this manner.
"Their story is a testament to the true spirit of exploration, where grit, preparation and perseverance are tested against the wild and isolating forces of nature. We are honored to share Matty and Adam’s extraordinary adventure with the world," added Pledger.
During their trip, they are faced with extreme environments where they must push their equipment, bodies and spirits to their limits.
