FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Shoppers can support local queer makers for Pride Month on June 17 at the annual “Made with Pride” Big Gay Market outside of Pink House Alchemy and Sleet City Art and Supplies.
Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, over 40 vendors will set up on College Avenue. Beverages and food will be provided by Pink House. There will also be free portraits available.
“Our mission is to help put money directly into the pockets of local LGBTQ+ creators, while also fostering a space for advancement, connection and joy in our queer community,” said Amanda Arafat, one of the market's co-founders.
According to Arafat, Big Gay Market was founded in June 2021 as a response to the anti-Trans backlash in Arkansas. The market gave Queer vendors a common space to promote their goods during Pride Month.
