2024 Walmart NWA Championship Tournament preparations underway

The tournament officially starts on Friday, Sept. 27, with the second round on Saturday and final round Sunday.

ROGERS, Ark. — The Walmart NWA Championship Tournament events run from Saturday, Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 29.

Events kick off with a 5k run at the Walmart AMP on Saturday, Sept. 21. The qualifier tournament begins Monday, Sept. 23, but the course will be closed to the public. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the Official Pro-Am Tournament.

The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Tournament officially starts on Friday, Sept. 27, with the second round on Saturday and final round Sunday.

Crews have been working at Pinnacle Country Club to get ready for the events for more than a month.

Tournament directors are also still looking for volunteers – from working in admissions to being out on the course.

Executive Director Annye DeGrand Fox said it takes more than 800 people to put on the event, which is growing every year.

“Our BITE experience is growing bigger than ever,” Fox said. “We've got more people coming out, but also more restaurants coming out to support the event. The footprint is growing slightly, which we're really excited about, to accommodate more people and provide a great experience out on the course.”

As the tournament enters its 18th year, Fox said being around that long is rare for an LPGA tournament and it's all thanks to community support.

“Just the support we've received year after year from the community, whether that's the number of volunteers who come out to support the event, the sponsors and partners of the event, or just the fans who come out and enjoy the event, it's really special to see, and we're looking forward to sort of seeing that again this year,” Fox said.

Parking for the tournament and events at Pinnacle will be located offsite, south of Walmart Neighborhood Market near the country club in Rogers. A shuttle will be available to transport people to the events.

More information about tickets and volunteering and a schedule of events can be found on the tournament’s website.
