FORT SMITH, Ark — The City of Fort Smith will close roads downtown on Friday, May 10, in preparation for the Miss America Homecoming Parade.
Madison Marsh, a Fort Smith native, was crowned Miss America 2024 while representing Colorado, the state she lives in. She is also the first active military member to be crowned.
Fort Smith now welcomes her back with a homecoming parade to celebrate her.
"There will be a street closure for the Miss America Parade on Garrison Avenue from 5th to 10th and N. A Street from N. 5th to N. 10th," Fort Smith police announced.
The road closures will be from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Police ask drivers to consider alternate routes when traveling through the area.
Miss America will host a meet-and-greet at the U.S. Marshals Museum from 2:45 to 4 p.m. before the parade, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
