BENTONVILLE, Ark. — It's a big weekend for the box office and the Swifties as Taylor Swift's Eras Tour hits movie theaters. According to CBS, the film could bring in $120 million on the opening weekend alone.
Some fan's "wildest dreams" are coming true as they can relive their Eras Tour memories, or see the concert for the first time on the big screen.
"I am an OG fan from her very first debut album, and this girl was brought up as a Swiftie— she had it in her blood," said Amanda Montoya, who came with her daughter, Kelsey.
“We went to the opening night concert for the eras tour, it was just me and my mom it was so fun to see her,” said Kelsey.
The filmed concert has some people asking, "Do we follow the rules of a traditional movie theater, or do we treat this as a concert?"
Jennifer Campbell, General Manager at Skylight Cinema in Bentonville says this isn't your typical showing, so rules can be bent.
“We are expecting some sing-alongs, it's a concert. So we're encouraging that as long as everybody's respectful of the other guests, staying in your seats, not really blocking people's view, things like that," said Campbell. “Singing is encouraged and welcome as long as it does not disrupt anybody else.
Taylor Swift told her Instagram followers in a post when the movie was announced that "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."
Skylight says there won't be any "Champagne Problems" either because they want you to "Stay Stay Stay" the entire film.
“We've got Taylor Swift eras tour cups and buckets to sell with the popcorn,” said Campbell. “We have a whole cocktail menu with Taylor Swift theme.”
Tickets for adults will be $19.89 and tickets for kids will be $13.13 (a reference to some of Swift's iconic numbers).
