FORT SMITH, Ark. — The 5NEWS Morning Crew's competitive sides came out as they played at the largest arcade in the River Valley on this episode of Around the Corner.
The Arcade of Fort Smith has nearly 100 retro arcade games to choose from. From pinball machines to Nintendo 64 games, the arcade's catalog can keep both the young and old entertained.
Jo, Zac, and Tiffany tried out most of the games, including a 30-second round of Hoop Fever! Of course, Jo won with a score of 7, followed by Zac with 5 hoops and Tiffany with 4. While Jo rubbed the win in their face, Zac immediately wanted a rematch.
Aside from Hoop Fever, here were the crew's favorite games at the Arcade:
Jo was a beast at "Mortal Kombat"! It didn't matter if her opponent was Tiffany, Zac, or the computer.
Zac's first game of choice was a pinball machine. But it wasn't just any pinball machine. Obviously, the 5NEWS meteorologist's favorite was the 1996 "Twisters"-themed pinball machine.
Finally, Tiffany, who has apparently never played a Nintendo GameCube, loved the golf game "Golden Tee." She was working on her golf stroke, trying to get under par.
All the gaming worked up the crew's appetite. Luckily, The Arcade has a concessions stand where they could pick up some soda and popcorn and get back to business.
If you're interested in popping into The Arcade soon, it is located at the Quarry Shopping Center at 4900 Rogers Ave. in Suite 101C. It is open only three days of the week:
- Friday: 5 p.m. to Midnight
- Saturday: Noon to Midnight
- Sunday: Noon to 8 p.m.
