Take advantage of The Rink at Lawrence Plaza this winter season

The rink, located at 214 NE A Street, offers private parties, the opportunity to rent the rink, ice skating lessons, and good old-fashioned skating sessions.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — If you are looking for a family-friendly activity in Downtown Bentonville, the 7,000-square-foot Rink at Lawrence Plaza is open until Feb. 11. 

The rink, which is located at 214 NE A Street, offers private parties, the opportunity to rent the rink, ice skating lessons, and good old-fashioned skating sessions. 

Each skating session lasts 45 minutes and costs $7 per person. In the first week of the New Year, from Jan. 1 to Jan. 6, they are open for 45-minute sessions at each hour between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Calendar for the rest of the skating season:

  • Every Friday between Jan. 12 and Feb. 9, each hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • Every Saturday between Jan. 6 and Feb. 10, each hour from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Every Sunday between Jan. 7 and Feb. 11, each hour from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Monday, Jan. 8, and Monday, Jan. 14, every hour from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday through Thursday, Jan. 9 to Jan. 11, every hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Closed Jan. 16-18, Jan. 22-25, Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, and Feb. 5-8 

They also allow you to rent the rink for an hour and a half for $250. 

The rink can host private parties on Saturdays from  10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Sundays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The skate sizes available for kids are 9 through 13, and they have 1 through 15 adult sizes.

If you don't know how to skate but have an itch to learn, the rink offers group and private skate lessons.

  • Group ice skating lessons begin Jan. 6 and end Jan. 29. Lessons cost $65 for residents and $90 for non-residents.
  • Private ice skating lessons begin Jan. 6 and end Jan. 22. Lessons cost $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents.

For avid skaters, there are rink family passes available for $100, which allows families to reserve tickets online with no charge for 6 tickets per session for 1 session a day.

For the fifth and final episode of the Around the Corner holiday series, the 5NEWS morning crew hit the rink and showed off their skills. 

Tiffany and Zac struggled a little on the skates but eventually pulled off a little dance routine that wasn't half bad. Though, the "experts" at The Rink at Lawrence Plaza may disagree.
