SPRINGDALE, Ark. — One Downtown Springdale business brings the taste of Italy to Arkansas.
Zelli Pasta, a family-owned and operated store, offers a unique item to customers— fresh pasta!
They make fresh pasta daily with only two ingredients: Organic flour and water. All the freshly-made pasta can be bought in-store, which is located off Emma Avenue.
They also slow-dry their pasta the traditional Italian way, which can take up to 18-60 hours. Once it is dry, the pasta goes on their shelves for purchase.
While they are known for their homemade pasta, Zelli also sells kitchen items, cookbooks, spices, sauces, oils, cured meat, and more!
They are open from Monday to Saturday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
On this episode of Around the Corner, the 5NEWS morning crew got an exclusive look at the pasta producers working their magic. The Zelli Pasta owners even put them to work by having them box the slow-dried pasta.
The owner also cracked open a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano, better known as Parmesan cheese, for the crew to taste test.
