Rogers' historic Victory Theater set to host Pat Metheny in inaugural show

The renovation has preserved the historic charm of the theater but has also modernized the establishment with expanded seats and enhanced sound capabilities.

ROGERS, Ark. — Rogers will reopen its historic Victory Theater with Grammy-winning guitarist and composer Pat Metheny on March 13, 2024.

“I am absolutely thrilled to see the completion of the renovation of our historic Victory Theater," Rogers Mayor Greg Hines said. "The theater has been a cornerstone of our downtown community for close to a century."

Established in 1927, the Victory Theater has been a cherished part of Downtown Rogers. The renovation, which was partially funded through a Walton Family Foundation grant, has preserved the historic charm of the theater but has also modernized the establishment with expanded seats and enhanced sound capabilities.

"The addition of more seating and enhanced sound capabilities positions the Victory Theater as a premier venue for attracting world-class performers like Pat Metheny. His upcoming performance will be a special night in Rogers,” Hines said.

Metheny, who is a Missouri native, has been a musician since the age of 8. Now, at the age of 69, Metheny has had an accomplished career. From playing the jazz scene in Kansas City at 15 years old to sharing a stage with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Jim Hall, and David Bowie, Metheny has solidified his role as a genre-bending musician.

Metheny recently started a tour in September for his new album, "Dream Box," where Rogers will be on the list of the different stops in the U.S.

“'Dream Box' is an unusual recording for me; a compilation of solo tracks recorded across a few years that I discovered while listening on tour," Metheny said. "I hope folks might find some dreams of their own in this music."

Tickets to see Metheny at Victory Theater's opening night will be available for purchase on Nov. 6.
