BRANSON, Mo. — Silver Dollar City's famous new Fire In The Hole redesign received two awards on Sept. 7 from Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Awards, recognizing the remodel as the 'Best New Family Attraction' and 'Best New Attraction Installation.'
The original Fire In The Hole was up and running from 1972 to 2023 in Branson, and the new Fire In The Hole builds off that legacy by telling the story of the night the real town Silver Dollar City now sits on was burnt to the ground.
In the story, "volunteers" board an 1880s steam-powered fire-fighting wagon to save the town from burning at the hands of the Baldknobbers.
Tim Baldwin with the Golden Ticket Awards refers to Fire In The Hole as "a perfect ride for everyone in the family."
Park President Brad Thomas accepted the Golden Ticket Awards outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he spoke about how important Fire In The Hole is for Silver Dollar City.
According to Golden Ticket Awards, a panel of experienced enthusiasts work together to select category winners.
