List: Food and clothing donation opportunities across Fayetteville

As the season of giving comes back around, many residents across the area are looking to donation drives as a way to give back to their communities.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — As the season of giving comes back around, many residents across the area are looking at donation drives as a way to give back to their community.

Food for Fees

  • What: FFF is a canned food drive put on by the Fayetteville Public Library during which people can get $1 taken off their overdue library fees for every approved canned food item donated, offering a good excuse to get excited about giving back.
  • When: Until Saturday, Nov. 18
  • Where: Donations are accepted at the Fayetteville Public Library

Cranksgiving in the Ozarks

  • What: Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part food drive, and part scavenger hunt. Cyclists will be given a food list and will cycle around the city collecting the items on the list, teams can only purchase up to four items at each location. Once all purchases are made, participants return to the brewery with their goods.
  • When: Registration begins at noon on Nov. 18
  • Where:

    • Ozark Beer Co.
    • Bike Rack Brewing

The Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive

  • What: The drive is a partnership with Arkansas PBS to collect new and gently worn sweaters, jackets, gloves, coats, and scarves in a variety of sizes that will be donated to the 7hills Homeless Center
  • When: From now until the end of November
  • Where: Donations are being collected at Fayetteville Public Library's desks on levels 1, 2, and 3

Pancakes with Santa Fundraiser

  • What: Every year, Big Whiskey's restaurant partners with the Children's Safety Center to provide Christmas gifts to local families.
  • When: Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • Where: Big Whiskey's in Fayetteville

Fee Forgiveness Tree

  • What: The goal is to pay off fees that have accumulated on library youth accounts, removing financial barriers that may discourage kids from using the library
  • When: Begins on Friday, Nov. 17, and will run through Dec. 23
  • Where: Donations will be accepted at the Fee Forgiveness Tree on level 3 of the Fayetteville Public Library

Pet Food Drive

  • What: The pet food drive for the Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank. Community members are asked to bring in dog and cat food
  • When: Running from November 17 through December 23
  • Where: Donations are accepted under the tree in the preschool library on level 1 of the Fayetteville Public Library
