Fort Smith man celebrates 40th year working at Taco Bell

Taco Bell held a celebration for Roger on Thursday, July 18.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Roger Pinkerton, a Fort Smith man, was celebrated for his 40th year working at Taco Bell on Grand Avenue.

Taco Bell held a celebration for him on Thursday, July 18, from 2-4 p.m. The public was invited to join the celebration, where free drinks were provided.

The lobby was filled with balloons, decorations and even a cardboard cutout of Roger. His friends were also in attendance taking many photos at the photobooth set up for him.

When Roger started working at Taco Bell, he said it was only 0.79 for a taco.

"There was one day we had 0.35 taco," said Roger. "I don't think we'll have any 0.35 cent tacos anytime soon," he laughed.

Many at the celebration wore T-shirts with his face on them with a message reading "Rogers Fan Club Serving Mas for 40 Years."

"First, when I saw all these people have these shirts on, I said, 'gee, I feel a little creepy' in here,'" Roger laughed.

Roger was grateful for the celebration saying he appreciates what everyone did for him.

"Lord bless em' that's what keeps life [going] for me," said Roger.
